About the series
Mitch Shelley, a man with no memory but the power to resurrect from death with a new superhuman ability each time, stars in this 28-issue DC series from the late 1990s. Written primarily by the team of Dan Abnett and Andy Lanning, with art by Butch Guice, Joe Phillips, and Sal Velluto, the book combined gritty superhero action with a mystery-of-the-month format. Its central hook—a hero who literally cannot stay dead, constantly reinventing himself—gave the creative team a playground for inventive, high-concept stories that set it apart from the era's more traditional cape comics.
