Robin Hood

In the mid-1950s, Magazine Enterprises took aim at the bow-and-arrow set with this five-issue comic series starring the legendary outlaw of Sherwood Forest. Artist Frank Bolle was the most frequent visual hand on the title, bringing the classic tales of robbing from the rich and giving to the poor to the four-color newsstand. Though brief, the series is a solid example of the pre-Code adventure comics that kept folk heroes alive for a new generation of readers.
