Samurai Deeper Kyo

Set in a war-torn alternate Japan, Samurai Deeper Kyo follows a young woman searching for the legendary "Demon Eye" Kyo, a fearsome swordsman whose soul is trapped inside the body of a mild-mannered medicine seller. Originally serialized in Japan by Akita Shoten, this Tokyopop release ran for 34 issues and was created by mangaka Akimine Kamijyo. The series is known for its intricate blend of supernatural elements, historical fantasy, and intense sword-fighting drama that helped define early-2000s manga localization.
