About the series
From 2007 to 2012, DC’s Vertigo imprint published Scalped, a gritty crime saga set on the fictional Prairie Rose Indian Reservation. Written primarily by Jason Aaron, with moody, visceral art by R. M. Guéra, Dean Haspiel, and Denys Cowan, the series follows FBI agent Dash Bad Horse as he infiltrates a corrupt tribal government run by the ruthless Chief Lincoln Red Crow. Over the course of its 10-issue run, the book earned acclaim for its unflinching portrayal of poverty, violence, and identity, becoming a landmark in modern noir comics.
