About the series
Secret Six, a short-lived 1968-1969 DC series, introduced a team of five shadowy operatives—Carlo Di Rienzi, Crimson Dawn, Dr. August Durant, King Savage, and Lili De Neuve—recruited by a mysterious benefactor for clandestine missions. Over its seven-issue run, writers E. Nelson Bridwell and Joe Gill, alongside artists Jack Sparling and Frank Springer, crafted a globe-trotting espionage thriller that stood apart from DC's superhero fare. Though brief, the series is a cult curiosity for its gritty, non-powered take on the spy craze of the era, offering a unique glimpse into DC's experimental late-1960s output.
