From 1997 to 2001, Egmont’s Seriemagasinet offered a 16-issue anthology that brought American newspaper strips and mature comic stories to a Scandinavian audience. The series is most closely associated with the work of Alfred Andriola (on the classic detective strip Kerry Drake), alongside contributions from Brian Azzarello and Max Allan Collins, as well as artists like Peter Grau and Richard Corben. It stands as a notable, short-lived bridge between classic adventure serials and the grittier, more sophisticated comics of the late 1990s.
