About the series
In 1973, Epucol launched a long-running comic series starring Arthur Conan Doyle’s legendary detective, Sherlock Holmes, a title that would ultimately span 19 issues. While the series is most closely associated with the writing of Don McGregor and the evocative painted artwork of Martin Salvador, it also featured contributions from other notable talents, including John Byrne. This series stands as a significant early example of a faithful, mature comic adaptation of the classic literary character, predating many modern interpretations and establishing a visual template for Holmes in the medium.
