Sonic the Hedgehog

A short-lived Dutch comic series from De Vrijbuiter, Sonic the Hedgehog ran for only two issues in 1991. Adapting the then-new Sega video game, it brought the speedy blue hedgehog's battle against Dr. Robotnik to the pages of a comic for the first time in the Netherlands. While brief, this series stands as an early, localized attempt to translate the game's high-energy action into sequential art.
