About the series
In the early 1980s, Danish publisher Interpresse brought Marcel Remacle’s Sortskæg to readers in a four-issue comic series. This pirate-themed adventure strip, originally a European classic, follows the exploits of a one-eyed buccaneer and his crew through a series of lighthearted, swashbuckling tales. Remacle’s clean, expressive art and lively storytelling made this a memorable, family-friendly entry in the Nordic comics landscape. Though short-lived, Sortskæg remains a fondly recalled example of translated European adventure comics from the era.
