Spectreman

Based on the Japanese tokusatsu television series, Spectreman was adapted for Brazilian readers by Editora Bloch from 1983 to 1986. Spanning 30 issues, the comic brought the environmentally-conscious hero and his robotic sidekick, Gori, to the printed page, pitting them against the monstrous creations of the evil Dr. Gori. A key part of the 1980s Brazilian licensed-comics boom, this series is remembered for introducing a generation of readers to a unique, non-American superhero.
