About the series
From 1941 to 1947, Harvey Comics published Speed Comics, a 33-issue anthology that showcased a lively roster of wartime heroes and heroines. The series is best remembered for introducing the swashbuckling female vigilante the Black Cat, alongside such stalwarts as Captain Freedom, Shock Gibson, and the crime-fighting journalist Linda Turner.
