Spoutnik

A lively French comic anthology from the late 1950s, Spoutnik ran for 34 issues under the Arédit-Artima banner, riding the space-age excitement of its namesake satellite. The series was most frequently illustrated by the dynamic duo of R. R. Giordan and Joaquin Chacopino Fabre, whose bold, adventure-driven art defined its look. Though largely forgotten today, Spoutnik is a charming artifact of the era’s sci-fi and action-comic boom in France.
