About the series
Marvel UK’s Star Wars Weekly (1978–1980) brought the galaxy far, far away to British newsstands with 117 issues of original and reprinted adventures. Writers Chris Claremont, Archie Goodwin, and Bill Mantlo, alongside artists Carmine Infantino, Michael Golden, and Frank Springer, chronicled the early post-A New Hope exploits of Luke Skywalker, the droids, Princess Leia, and the tragic bounty hunter Beilert Valance. This series expanded the mythos with darker, UK-only stories that deepened the universe before the sequel trilogy, making it a distinctive bridge between the film’s release and the wider Marvel run.
