Steel, the Indestructible Man
DC · 1978 · 5 issues
About the series
A short-lived 1978 DC series, Steel, the Indestructible Man ran for only five issues, written primarily by Gerry Conway with art by Don Heck. It introduced a new hero named Steel, a former scientist transformed into a super-strong metallic being, and placed him in a world of standard superhero action. Though brief, the series is notable as a distinct, pre-Crisis attempt to launch a solo character from the pages of DC's Superman family of titles.
