About the series
Marvel’s short-lived 1954–1955 revival of the Sub-Mariner, written and drawn by his co-creator Bill Everett across all ten issues, follows Prince Namor and his cousin Namora through undersea adventures and clashes with the surface world. This series marks an important mid-century attempt to sustain the Golden Age antihero in the wake of the superhero genre’s decline, with Everett’s distinctive, fluid artwork lending a personal, consistent vision to Namor’s underwater kingdom.
