About the series
A seven-issue run from Superior Publishers, Sub-Mariner Comics (1948–1949) brought Bill Everett’s undersea antihero back to the newsstands during the post-war comic boom. With scripts by Bill Woolfolk and art by Ken Bald, Al Gabriele, and Everett himself, the series offered a brief but vivid showcase for Prince Namor’s aquatic adventures and battles with surface-world foes. Though short-lived, it stands as a key chapter in the Sub-Mariner’s early publishing history, bridging his Golden Age origins with later revivals.
