The series drew from the work of key architects Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Roy Thomas, with art by Larry Lieber, Steve Ditko, and Sal Buscema, showcasing the Sub-Mariner's complex role as both hero and antihero. It stands as a distinctive French compilation that introduced European readers to the Atlantean monarch's solo exploits during a period when Marvel was deepening his character.
