About the series
Combining romance, BDSM, and slice-of-life humor, Sunstone (Image, 2014–present) follows two women, Ally and Lisa, as they navigate a deepening relationship built on trust, kink, and a shared love of comic books. Writer-artist Stjepan Šejić created the series, which began as an 8-issue miniseries before expanding into a beloved ongoing story. Its candid, character-driven portrayal of a consensual BDSM dynamic, rendered in Šejić's expressive and warmly detailed art, helped broaden the scope of mainstream comics and earned a dedicated readership for its honest, romantic take on alternative lifestyles.
