About the series
From 1972 to 1974, DC Comics gave Supergirl her first solo series, a ten-issue run that spotlighted the Maid of Might in her own adventures. Written primarily by Cary Bates, Arnold Drake, and Robert Kanigher, with art by Art Saaf and John Rosenberger, the series explored Kara Zor-El's life as a college student and superhero. Though short-lived, it marked an important step in establishing Supergirl as a headliner beyond her supporting role in Action Comics.
