Tales of the Wonder Kind

From 2004 onward, Gary Ochiltree wrote and illustrated this four-issue series from Krypton Komics, a creator-owned project that explores the lives of super-powered children in a whimsical, small-town setting. Ochiltree’s warm, energetic art and storytelling give the series a distinct charm, focusing on the everyday adventures and growing pains of youthful heroes rather than epic battles. Though brief in its initial run, Tales of the Wonder Kind stands out as a heartfelt, independent take on the superhero genre, offering a refreshingly intimate perspective.
