About the series
In the late 2000s, Big City Comics published Tempest, a seven-issue miniseries that explores the aftermath of a devastating superhuman conflict. The story follows a group of ordinary people struggling to rebuild their lives in a city shattered by the battle between god-like beings. Writer and artist duo Mark Sable and David Lapham brought a gritty, grounded sensibility to the series, focusing on the human cost of superheroics. Tempest stands out as a thoughtful, character-driven examination of trauma and resilience within the superhero genre.
