Tenente Blueberry

In 1969, European comics masters Jean-Michel Charlier and Giraud (Mœbius) launched Tenente Blueberry at Editorial Íbis, a Brazilian-published spin-off series focusing on the younger years of the iconic Western hero. Spanning only two issues, this short-lived but significant run expanded the Blueberry mythos by exploring the character’s formative military adventures, showcasing Giraud’s lush, expressive art and Charlier’s taut storytelling. Though brief, the series remains a noteworthy footnote in the Blueberry saga, offering fans a glimpse of the lieutenant’s early career before the main series took full shape.
