A satirical German comic strip series launched in 2000 by Verlag Mainz, Thaten und Meinungen des Herrn Piepmeyer revives the 19th-century character created by writer Johann Hermann Detmold and artist Adolph Schroedter. Modern artists Isabel Sistemich and Susanne Kramer have contributed to its single issue to date, extending the legacy of a political cartoon classic that originally mocked the bourgeois mindset of the Vormärz era. This contemporary update preserves the series' sharp social commentary while adapting it for a new audience.
