The Beyond

From 1950 to 1955, Ace Magazines published The Beyond, a 30-issue horror and supernatural anthology series that leaned into the eerie and uncanny. Robert Turner was the most frequent writer, while artists Jim McLaughlin, Sy Grudko, and Lou Cameron contributed much of the moody, shadow-drenched artwork. A key title from the pre-Code horror boom, it captured the postwar fascination with the macabre before the Comics Code Authority reshaped the industry.
