About the series
In the late 1990s, DC Comics published The Book of Fate, a 12-issue series that spun out of the Primal Force title, centering on the mystical hero Fate. Written primarily by Keith Giffen and Alan Grant, with art by Ron Wagner, Giffen, and Matt Smith, the series explored the legacy of the Helm of Nabu through a new bearer, Jared Stevens, who wielded a more modern, gritty version of the artifact. This run reimagined the classic Doctor Fate concept for a darker, late-90s superhero landscape, blending supernatural action with a street-level, anti-hero edge.
