The Goon

From 2008 to 2014, Cross Cult published nine issues of The Goon, a darkly comedic horror series written and drawn by Eric Powell. Set in a mob-run town plagued by zombies, mad scientists, and supernatural oddities, the book follows its bruising, fedora-wearing protagonist through a world of grotesque humor and surprisingly heartfelt storytelling. Powell’s singular, moody artwork and sharp dialogue made this a cult favorite among fans of offbeat, creator-owned comics.
