The Land of Nod

In this short-lived 1997–1998 Dark Horse miniseries, cartoonist Jay Stephens weaves a surreal, all-ages adventure set in a dreamlike realm where a boy named Nod must navigate bizarre landscapes and eccentric inhabitants. Stephens, the sole writer and artist, fills each of the four issues with his signature whimsical, slightly off-kilter linework and storytelling. Though brief, The Land of Nod stands as a charming, creator-driven oddity from the late-90s alt-comics boom, showcasing Stephens’ unique visual imagination.
