The Power of SHAZAM!
DC · 1995–2010 · 49 issues
About the series
Jerry Ordway rebooted the Marvel Family for a modern DC audience with this 1995 series, which ran for 49 issues and was later continued by Eric Wallace. The book re-established Billy Batson’s origin as the champion of the wizard Shazam, pitting him against classic foes like Ibac while introducing new supporting players such as Stanley Printwhistle. With art from Ordway, Pete Krause, and the legendary Curt Swan, this series became the definitive post-Crisis take on the World’s Mightiest Mortal, weaving magic and heart into a long-running saga that defined the character for a new generation.
