The Question

In the late 1980s, Dennis O'Neil and Denys Cowan reimagined the faceless vigilante the Question for a gritty, cerebral 37-issue run at DC. This series stripped away superhero conventions, plunging the character into a world of philosophical noir and urban decay that defined an era. Later, Greg Rucka would return to the character, building on O'Neil and Cowan's foundation with a more modern, politically charged sensibility. The Question's DC tenure remains a landmark for its bold, introspective take on crime fiction in comics.
