About the series
In the late 1980s, Arrow Comics published The Realm, a 12-issue fantasy-horror series that plunged readers into a dark, post-apocalyptic world where magic and monsters had reclaimed the land. Crafted primarily by writers Ralph Griffith and Stuart Kerr, with visceral, moody art from Guy Davis and Jim Miller, the series stood out for its gritty, no-holds-barred approach to sword-and-sorcery storytelling. It remains a cult touchstone for its raw, independent vision, predating the grim fantasy revival that would follow in mainstream comics.
