The Realm

From 1989 to 1990, Caliber Press published The Realm, an eight-issue fantasy comic that blended sword-and-sorcery action with a grim, post-apocalyptic sensibility. The series, most frequently written by Randy Zimmerman, Guy Davis, and Ralph Griffith, and illustrated by John Dennis and Guy Davis, carved out a cult niche for its moody, detailed artwork and its willingness to push the boundaries of independent fantasy storytelling of the era.
