The Shadow - La Sombra

In 1987 and 1988, Spanish publisher Zinco brought Howard Chaykin's sleek, modernized vision of The Shadow to an international audience with this four-issue series. Chaykin, who wrote and drew the stories, was the defining creative force behind the title, which reimagined the classic pulp vigilante for a contemporary readership. Sergio Pradera assisted on scripts, but it's Chaykin's sharp, kinetic art and noir-tinged storytelling that make this brief run a distinctive, cult-favorite take on the character.
