About the series
In this late-1960s DC revival, the Spectre returns as a ghostly agent of vengeance, dispensing supernatural justice in stories that balanced eerie horror with cosmic-scale retribution. Writers Gardner Fox, Neal Adams, and Steve Skeates, alongside artists Jerry Grandenetti, Neal Adams, and José Delbo, crafted a short but striking 10-issue run that pushed the character into darker, more surreal territory. Though brief, the series is remembered for its atmospheric art and for laying groundwork that would influence the Spectre's later, more celebrated interpretations.
