About the series
In the early 1990s, the Polish publisher Epix brought a landmark European fantasy series to English-speaking readers with a four-issue run of Thorgal. This translation introduced the epic, Viking-infused saga of a mysterious foundling navigating a world of Norse gods and science-fantasy, a creation most famously associated with Belgian writer Jean Van Hamme and Polish artist Grzegorz Rosiński. Though a brief sampling, this edition offered a crucial gateway to one of the most acclaimed and long-running bande dessinée series, showcasing its lyrical art and mythic storytelling to a new audience.
