From 1973 to 1974, the French publisher Elvifrance released Thrilling, a 15-issue horror anthology series that stands out for its painted covers and interiors by the singular artist Carlo Jacono. Known for his lush, unsettling style, Jacono’s work gave each issue a distinct, almost cinematic dread, making this a visually striking entry in the European horror-comics boom of the early 1970s. While short-lived, the series remains a cult touchstone for fans of Jacono’s macabre, painterly approach.
