About the series
A short-lived but charming 1950s series from New Century Press, Tip Top ran for 39 issues and was entirely the work of cartoonist Ernie Bushmiller, best known for his long-running newspaper strip Nancy. The comic collected and repackaged Bushmiller's daily and Sunday Nancy and Fritzi Ritz strips, offering readers a tidy, portable dose of his signature deadpan humor and perfectly geometric cartooning. While it didn't break new ground, Tip Top stands as a tidy artifact of the era's trend of repurposing popular newspaper features for the newsstand, preserving Bushmiller's clean, influential style for a new audience.
