Toenga

A seven-issue Dutch comic series from Uitgeverij Helmond, Toenga (1974–1978) was a solo project by Belgian cartoonist Édouard Aidans, who both wrote and illustrated every installment. The series follows the adventures of its titular hero, a strong and solitary figure navigating a prehistoric world filled with dinosaurs and hostile tribes. Aidans, known for his detailed, dynamic artwork, brought a rugged, European adventure-comic sensibility to the prehistoric genre. Though brief, Toenga stands as a distinctive, creator-driven work from a veteran of the Franco-Belgian comic tradition.
