In the early 2000s, Vents d'Ouest published Totale maîtrise, a five-issue French comic series blending martial arts action with science fiction. The story follows a young man who, after a tragic accident, discovers he can control a powerful energy known as "Ki," drawing him into a secret world of masters and deadly tournaments. Written by Jean-Marc Lainé and illustrated by Stéphane Collignon, the series is noted for its dynamic fight choreography and fusion of Eastern philosophy with Western comic storytelling. Though short-lived, Totale maîtrise remains a cult favorite for its ambitious, visually inventive take on the superpowered genre.
