About the series
From its 1991 debut, Toxic was a no-holds-barred British anthology comic from Apocalypse, designed to push the boundaries of extreme satire and visceral action. Most often written by Pat Mills, Tony Skinner, and Alan Grant, and drawn by artists like John Erasmus, Duke Mighten, and Cam Kennedy, the series became notorious for its savage humor and unflinching violence. It featured recurring characters such as the psychic lawman Joe Gilmore, the fascist-hunting Marshal Law, and a grotesquely satirized Dan Quayle, cementing its place as a cult landmark of 1990s counterculture comics.
