About the series
In the late 1980s, Finnish publisher Semic produced Transformers spesiaali, a five-issue series collecting the best of Marvel's original Transformers stories for a new audience. Anchored by the work of writer Bob Budiansky and artists Herb Trimpe and Charles Vess, these oversized specials introduced Finnish readers to the epic Autobot-Decepticon conflict. Though brief, the series stands as a key artifact of the global spread of the franchise, bringing the American comic's distinctive blend of action and characterization to Europe.
