About the series
Warren Ellis and Darick Robertson’s Transmetropolitan, published by DC’s Helix imprint from 1997 to 2002, follows outlaw journalist Spider Jerusalem as he returns to a corrupt, hyper-saturated future city to write one last story. Over 60 issues, the series combines blistering political satire with gonzo science fiction, using its scabrous, irreverent tone to skewer media, power, and the absurdities of modern life. A landmark of late-90s comics, it remains a fiercely original and prescient look at the role of the truth-teller in a broken world.
