About the series
Marvel’s first foray into Western comics, Two-Gun Kid ran for ten issues from 1948 to 1949, establishing the publisher’s long-running love for the genre. Written primarily by Stan Lee, Ernie Hart, and Bill Woolfolk, with art from Syd Shores, Russ Heath, and John Severin, the series introduced the masked gunslinger Clay Harder and his ally Cyclone. It’s a foundational Marvel Western, showcasing early talent and the raw energy of post-war cowboy storytelling before the Kid would later ride into the Silver Age.
