U.S. Acres

U.S. Acres, published by Pharos Books from 1987 to 1989, is a five-issue comic book series that adapts the gentle, gag-driven world of Jim Davis's farm-based comic strip. The series focuses on a cast of anthropomorphic barnyard animals, including the hapless Orson Pig and the scheming Roy Rooster, in short, playful stories. While it never achieved the cultural saturation of Davis's Garfield, this short-lived series is a faithful, charming extension of the strip's humor, preserving a quieter slice of 1980s newspaper comics in the direct market.
