Umulige Julie

Arvid Michelsen wrote and drew all four issues of Umulige Julie, a short-lived Danish comic series from Folkeforlaget that ran from 1954 to 1958. The strip follows its mischievous title character, a girl whose playful antics and impossible situations likely brought a light, humorous touch to mid-century European comics. Though brief, the series stands as a notable early example of a locally created comic starring a female lead in Denmark’s post-war publishing landscape.
