Uncanny Tales

Marvel · 1973–1975 · 12 issues
About the series

A 12-issue black-and-white magazine from Marvel, Uncanny Tales (1973–1975) revived the anthology horror style of the 1950s, offering standalone stories of monsters, ghosts, and supernatural dread. The series drew heavily on the talents of Stan Lee, Larry Lieber, and Paul S. Newman for scripts, while Steve Ditko, Gil Kane, and Jack Keller provided the eerie, atmospheric artwork. Though short-lived, it stands as a moody, pre-Code-style Marvel horror showcase, bridging the company's earlier Atlas-era chills with its 1970s revival of the macabre.
