Set in the turbulent 14th century, Vasco follows the adventures of a Sienese banker’s son caught in the political and military upheavals of medieval Europe and the East. Launched by Le Lombard in 1983, the series ran for 30 issues, with its creator Gilles Chaillet defining its early historical scope and detail, later continued by writers Thierry Lebreton and Dominique Rousseau alongside artists Christophe Ansar and Jean-Pierre Joblin. Known for its meticulous research and sweeping narrative, the series stands as a cornerstone of Franco-Belgian historical adventure comics.
