Walt Disney Super Goof
Western · 1965–1984 · 74 issues
About the series
From 1965 to 1984, Western Publishing’s Walt Disney Super Goof turned the bumbling Goofy into a clumsy but well-meaning superhero, thanks to his secret stash of Super Goobers. Over 74 issues, the series balanced slapstick humor with lighthearted crime-fighting, pitting Super Goof against the scheming Emil Eagle while keeping his supporting cast—including Clarabelle Cow and Chief O’Hara—in on the gag. Anchored by frequent writers Vic Lockman, Bob Ogle, and Mark Evanier, and artists like Kay Wright, Tony Strobl, and Paul Murry, the book became a beloved, long-running oddity in Disney comics, proving even the goofiest hero could carry a series.
