Warlocks

In the late 1980s, Malibu Comics launched Warlocks (1988–1990), a dark fantasy series spanning 11 issues that blended sword-and-sorcery with modern occult horror. Most frequently written and drawn by Barry Blair, with additional art by Xiao Gui, the title explored a world where ancient magical practitioners clashed with contemporary society. While not a major crossover event, it stands as a cult artifact of Malibu’s pre-superhero era, showcasing the publisher’s willingness to experiment with genre fiction beyond capes and tights.
