Weekly Supplement [Book-Comics]

A long-running newspaper insert from the Comics Magazine Company, Weekly Supplement packaged a rotating selection of adventure, humor, and detective features into a single tabloid-sized comic. Debuting in 1937 and spanning just six issues, the series was largely the creative domain of Ed Moore and George Brenner (sometimes credited as George E. Brenner), who both wrote and drew its contents. It stands as an early example of the anthology format that would define the Golden Age, offering a snapshot of the diverse storytelling that was just beginning to fill American newsstands.
