Weird Fantasy

In the early 2000s, Italian publisher 001 Edizioni revived the classic EC Comics title Weird Fantasy for a four-issue run (2008–2013), bringing a distinctly European sensibility to the science fiction and horror anthology format. The series featured a rotating cast of Italian and international creators, with writer/artist Corrado Mastantuono among the most prominent contributors, blending visceral, imaginative storytelling with moody, expressive artwork. This short-lived but striking series stands as a notable homage to the EC tradition, offering a bridge between vintage American genre comics and the modern European graphic novel scene.
